Here I am at one of my favorite spots in Stonington, CT participating in one of my favorite activities, beachcombing.

Manuel is a bowyer in the truest sense of the word. He makes his own bows and arrows and has a target set up in the yard for practice. He's taught workshops on how to make the bows and has an impressive collection (see images in the Our Home section) of bows that he's made or collected on many trips overseas. This day was a particularly nice round and so I took a photo for posterity.

On our recent collecting trip to Maine, we hit black fly season at it's peak. Fortunately, it wasn't too bad most of the time, but at this lake we had to pull out the "helmets" that Hannah had brought along. Corrie, Hannah, and I are pictured here.
